Hitler still is far and way the most evil person ever. Not so sure about that. Pretty sure you are seriously under rating Ole Joe though - with Mao recently coming close. You need to read a few books about him and how he won the war. A good and quite unbiased place to start would be 'Stalingrad' by Trevor-Roper.
