Khaled Mashaal says he made the offer to former President Carter in talks on Saturday. Mashaal says Hamas would accept a Palestinian state limited to the lands Israel seized in 1967—an implicit acceptance that Israel would exist alongside that state. But Mashaal says the group would never outright formally recognize Israel. What happens after 10 years ?

They coopted the word socialist but didnt create a socialist state either of the communist or democratic socialist variety. I would agree they weren't communist or democratic socialists. However, they considered themselves their own kind of socialist (they certainly did put the collective i.e. the nation/race ahead of the individual). Yes, if Hitler were still alive, no doubt whatever Carter would be sitting down with him and grinning.
