"this debate reminds me of philosophy 101 back in college."

When I got my undergrad degree, we didn't have phil101. With 325 students, I suppose it didn't make much sense. When I got my graduate degree, we didn't have to take such silly ass courses.

However, my wife is a PhD candidate in philosophy. If you think the angel dancing arguments are pointless, just try epistemology and their fake barns. Or anything having to do with value theory.

The only reason I am arguing this is that to put the Nazis in the same category as socialists shows a complete misunderstanding of what they were and, much more importantly, how they got control of a country like Germany. Because, when Nehemiah Scudder wanders onto the scene and we don't recognize him for the fascist demagogue that he is, we will lose our country.

if a country with the power of the US walks down the road of fascism, it would be a very, very bad thing.
