Obamas fairness answer was ridiculous. Cap gains is a special case where low rates encourage transactions and can produce more revenue. Obama says he doesnt care because 28% is fairer. No way if joe sixpack has to pick up the shortfall. Now of course he could make the case that the supply siders are wrong and that xyz study shows the higher rate still produces more income for the treasury but he didnt say that and tacitly admitted he would be collecting less.
