I am not so sure any more. You always have officers who are willing to violate their oath. I mean, look at Ollie North. He stood there on the stand and stated his loyalty to "his" commander in chief. Didn't mention that his loyalty was supposed to be to the Constitution. Not exactly what you want in an officer.

But, if officers now get promoted like the administration does in the civilian sector...
