It's reasonable to assume that the Nazis actually thought of themselves as true socialists, that the term "socialism" wasn't just a political buzzword.

The point you were making by your "hint, not French" was aimed at giving the impression that all of that dodo was and could have been created by Germans only.
Now germans don't create much at all, but they are darned good at book keeping and compiling thus coming up with a complete "guide to", at least for those who can read German.
