Sure... I make my own breadcrumbs from stale bread - and from croutons. Try this recipe or use your own seasonings:

Bill's Savory Homemade Croutons

1 ea loaf bread
1 ea butter or margarine spread
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp pork rub - not hot
1 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp mexican seasoning
1 tsp adobo
1 tsp garlic salt

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

In a bowl, mix all spices.

Coat each slice bread with spread

Put 2-3 pinches of mixed spices on each slice.

Stack and cube bread into 3/4-inch cubes - or crouton size (about 4 cups) Spread evenly on a baking sheet.

Bake until golden brown, tossing halfway through, 15 to 20 minutes.

I love croutons in a salad. Especially, when the croutons soften slightly on the outside, leaving a satisfying crunch in the middle. If done properly the croutons can not only enhance the salad from whatever the flavor of the croutons are, but also take on the flavor of the dressing.

Making croutons are easy. You can control the amount of salt and preservatives, making a delicious and healthy crouton, and if kept in a resealable plastic bag can last up to a month.

It’s easy to customize the flavor, as well, simply by adding whatever
seasonings you like and have on hand. Here is an easy recipe to get you
started (above).
