Yes sincere and naive. Remember when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan - Carter - " ________ lied to me". I do not remember who he was referring to. Jimmy Carter is like some here who see the world they want it to be - not the way it is.

Hamas id a terrorist group to Israel. They have not struck against the US or US interests, except Israel. This is a good beginning.

WE learn by our past mistakes. One of the things that we never seem to give recognition to is that what someone did in his or her fifties might have changed with age. I think Carter was always a well intended person. His work with Habitat on Humanity supports this. He made mistakes as president and still may make some as I know that my Israeli friends hate him. I have always had a tender place in my heart for him as I think he one person who is willing to change. Now Mc Cain should have learned from past mistakes. I think it's not great for someone who has been demonized and must know what it feels like to turn around and do the same thing. I wonder whether some advisers are not so smart when they advise a candidate to take advantage of something and attack. If left to our own devices and thinking something through alone the result might be different. I remember in my past listening to advice and against my better instincts following it and then regretting it later.
