A low income family here has to be way below the FPL to be eligible.

It varies on a state-by-state basis, but I know of no state where income of $1,200/month would disqualify a person for Medicaid benefits (perhaps you know of one). Most states require an income of less than 250% of the FPL; some are 450% or even higher. None requires 100% of the FPL as you suggested, although, at 100% of the FPL some rural states begin to require beneficiaries to chip in by paying a small premium.

Social medicine is coming bub...get used to it.

It could be, but I don't think so. I believe most people are smart enough to realize that turning medical care over to the government is pretty stupid. One need only look to the disasters that Social Security and Medicare have become to quickly realize that putting the government in charge of medical care is a disaster.

I do think if either Hillary or Osama is elected they will try, but I don't think it will happen.
