(You didn't answer the question I asked: At what precise stage do they qualify for full legal status?) But --- trying to ignore the side-stepping, and approach your new question on it's own merits: "If the law said I didn't have any legal status, would it be ok to kill me?" I'll answer with a question as well: 'OK by what standard?' (The letter of the law would be one standard. And, that's what my previous question addressed. How would you write the letter of the law???????????? How would the statutes be defined?)
