John Wayne refused to shoot a man in the back as required by the script to his last movie "The Shootist."

He said, "I've never shot a man in the back in any of my movies and I'm not going to start now. If you don't like it, get yourself another boy."

That's one reason why it distresses me to see actors uttering offensive words or playing in an offensive movie. I always think they might be like that even though it's just a movie. They could always say no, like John Wayne did.
