Probably something like this goes on in Detroit among the Pakistanis, and never shows it's head.

Well... there is the more than occasional head rolling in the street.

Vigilante justice is alive and well in the US, e.g. the mafia and thousands of gangs. A lot more to come as our legal system crumbles.

I think that is Talmudic Law, although I don't know how well it conforms to our legal code, but Sharia Law scares me more.

I understand that there is a Jewish "court" system in major cities for the Orthodox. It's run on a private basis for domestic disputes and is voluntary. I'm sure Nadine can clue me in on this

The significant difference is that Jewish courts were never meant to be for non-Jews. Sharia is for everybody everywhere, according to the Koran.
