Do you? Because McCain sure will continue most of them.

I take your point re the promise of new programs that can be implemented by a D pres with a D congress. I appreciate your sensitivity to lost opportunity.

But, no, McCain can't continue most of Bush's policies. You give way too much credit to an R president with a D congress. McCain would need congressional support for any new war and to fund this one, he can't maintain the Bush tax cuts without the support of congress, and I don't know what other Bush policies you're afraid to continue. No Child Left Behind, perhaps? Surely you're not afraid of that.

Effectively, a Democratic president can wind down our presence in Iraq and not invade anyone else. Effectively, a Democratic president and Congress can revise the tax cut structure. Effectively, a Democratic president and Congress can nominate and confirm Supreme Court judges. Effectively, a Democratic president and Congress can pass a more extensive healthcare plan than McCain wants. Ditto legislation on the environment and infrastructure priorities.

Thank you Dale that succinctly sums it up. That is all that has to be put out there for anyone.. Obama or Hillary...

If we have a chance to accomplish those things the whole country will vote Democratic.
