Listen I don't want to get into a point by point defense of Obama, but on the pin thing, neither Hillary nor McCain wear a flag pin. Wearing a flag pin is, IMHO, cheap patriotism. Means nothing beyond the cosmetic.

It just really depends on who is wearing it.

I agree with you. It was the taking it off that rankled some folks and one wonders why he would do that in the middle of a campaign. I dunno. None of what he has done or michelle or rev wrigth for that matter, matters much when taken alone. When its all added up, it creates the stuff that not only upsets the right wing. Below is a list.
1. flag pin removal at beginning of campaign
2. failure to refute extreme wright for 20 years
3. michelle pride remark
4. bitter guns and religion
5. pledge
6. bowling 37
7. one word campaign ch ch ch ch change
8 stupid answer to charly gibson on cap gains loaded question
9. will talk to ahamdijad no preconditions or preliminary negotiations by underlings.
10. Ayres and Woods foundation (not tiger)
