I heard that question and nearly shouted at my PC "Do you want them to chew your food for you also?"

Covello is also "following" Micron and DRAM industry.

He is a highly paid individual and his "research budget" is something I can only dream off but still based on how the questions are put you get some kind of idea "where he is coming" from.
He's got at least 40 hours per week (paid);
clear to me that Micron is transfering copper based DRAM process to Nanya and that should bode well for certain players IMHO.

Press release, April 21; Rodney Chan, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 22 April 2008]

Micron Technology and Nanya Technology have announced that the two companies have signed an agreement to create MeiYa Technology, a new DRAM joint venture.

The partnership will leverage both Micron and Nanya's manufacturing technology, strengths and experience. As part of the joint venture, a 200mm Nanya manufacturing facility in Taiwan will be upgraded to industry-leading 300mm technology starting this year, with the facility coming online for production in 2009. In addition to MeiYa, the parties will jointly develop and share future technology.

Both parent companies will own 50% of the joint venture initially, and each will contribute US$550 million in cash by the end of 2009. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval in Taiwan, and is expected to close within the next few months.
