for me it was the honesty and integrity. Clinton have been so duplicitous. The double talk about wright hurt a lot. I still say if i belonged to a church whose pastor said these thing, i would have challenged him and then quit if necessary. I understand african american history so i demand context for remarks here but even with context, it certainly warranted a apat on obamas part. And back to the clintons the worry about integrity is sort of offset now by perceived strength. I can now vote for a tough gal dem in the general election who reminds me more of maggie thatcher than past candidates. I dont need mccains reactionary approach to the war in iraq and vietnam to get the toughness we need in todays world. If obama cant argue with his pastor and is hesitant to get tough with hillary, Krushchev will eat him up worse than he ate up JFK back in 61-62.

JF, there are two reasons why I like Obama:

a) Unlike the partisan games the Clintons play, I feel Obama would foster some real discussion on the issues.

b) It's good to shake up the status quo. Obama proves that one can make it on his or her own, even in the highly entrenched world of politics.

That to me is a sign of encouragement.
