>>I agree with both of those statements, but Iran, Saddam's Iraq and many if not all Middle Eastern countries are reasonable and logical only for their own self-interests and their own . Their self-interests are clearly governed by their Imams and their 11th Century mindset.

It is clear they plan to take over the world one way or the other. Flying planes into buildings doesn't work, but it gets them fired up and our own politically correct mindset is incapable of coping with the underlying problem.<<

It is not at all clear that Iran has a wish to take over the will. One thing that is clear is that they wouldn't have any real chance of doing so even if they wanted to.

You are conflating the governments of countries like Iran and Iraq with the leadership of Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda would absolutely like to take over the world, and to establish a global caliphate under Sharia law. But again, they don't have a chance in Hell of accomplishing that goal. They are a small group of extremists who aren't supported by the vast majority of muslims in the world. They have no army, they have no weapons of mass destruction. Even if they manage to get their hands on a nuclear weapon, they're going to have a tough time getting it anywhere and setting it off. And even if they did, that would hardly put them in a position to take over the world.

I don't think it's clear they plan to take over the world, and even if it were clear they planned that (and I think there's really no evidence for it)- there's no way they can do it.

These countries are much more reasonable than you think they are, imo. I'm not saying they are "nice", but they are most certainly interested in self preservation.
