I haven't always agreed with Cheney's opinions or actions (although I imagine I do so much more often than you do), but I do remember that during the presidential and vice presidential debates he impressed me more than any of the other three candidates (Gore, Bush, and Lieberman). This isn't really a partisan thing, Lieberman was also fairly impressive. The VPs looked better to me than the presidents. (judging solely from the debates, not considering their actions, statements, or voting records, before or after the debates)
