I think Islam has no agenda. A major element in the war on terrorism is the need to get religious extremism out of politics, not to engage in it.

Islam is a Religion underscored by the purposefulness of humanity, a purpose defined no differently than Christianity, Judaism or any other major world religion that counts human existence as purposeful.

It may be appropriate to attach the word 'agenda' to radical religious/political movements but it is not appropriate to generalize that beyond the scope of the extremists and their following.
