>>Criticizing Obama is not substantive?<<

MM -

Criticizing him with specious claims is not substantive, no.

>>No, I think he can get Musharraf's phone number. I just don't think Obama knows what to do when he gets it. Frankly, I don't think anybody does. I certainly don't.<<

Then why say anything about Obama's abilities in particular?

>>I have nothing against Al Quaeda as long as they stay over there and quit shouting 'death to America,' flying planes into buildings, bombing our buildings, and trying to infiltrate our culture with Sharia law.<<

I wouldn't even mind if they kept shouting "Death to America", as long as they stopped doing anything about it. I'm not particularly worried about them trying to infiltrate our culture with Sharia law, since they have no hope whatsoever of doing so.

The flying planes into buildings thing is a problem. That's why I'd advocate dealing with bin Laden and al Zawahiri once and for all. They did attack us, and they need to be apprehended and punished. Ideally, we could capture them alive, put them on trial, and then keep them in prison for the rest of their lives, thus demonstrating that we are decent, merciful, moral people. But I wouldn't shed a single tear if they were killed in the attempt to capture them.
