When one pair of siblings marries another pair of siblings the offspring of the two marriages produces double first cousins. Sometimes you hear of pairs of identical twins marrying each other. That would be even worse for their children to mate.

You can also get more closely related by repeating first or second cousin marriages through many generations, which is the Arab pattern. I read somewhere that over half of all marriages in the Arab world are to first or second cousins. Their cultural traditions of having the women carry the honor of their birth family are a powerful incentive towards patrilineal endogamy. If your honor is only safe if your in-laws care about you, better make sure that your honor is your in-laws' honor too.
