Thanks for the recommendations, Kate.

This is the wrong thread, but I can't resist at least this bit.

On Petrobas, I've been watching but we've decided to avoid specific companies, rather invest in countrywide or sectorwide ETFs. We have some money in Vanguard's Emerging Market ETF which means we get some volatility from companies like Petrobas as well as others. And I have several BRIC ETFs on my watchlist.

When my mother died, we inherited some XOM. My father bought it in the early 70s and simply held. I considered just reinvesting it and thought of Petrobas at the time. But I don't have that much interest in the oil business to keep on top of any given company. So I took a pass.

As for commodity ETFs and ETNs I have several on my watchlist and subscribe to a couple of very good ETF newsletters to keep up. Still holding my powder, as they say.
