Didn't say it made more sense. Said it better fit your analogy. Passive vs active.

I mean, if I'm going to go out and buy a new car anyway it does. I suppose if the choice is between keeping my current car and buying a Prius, you might have a point.

That's exactly my point. Running out and buying a Prius just because there's a report of China increasing the use of coal is, well, I'm not supposed to use that word.

My next car will most likely be a hybrid, in any case.

Now, that make sense to me.
