I thought so in 2000 and I've been proven right.

Not only is "better" in many ways subjective, but for most reasonably common subjective preferences nothing has been proven because Gore has never been president (and even in the unlikely even that he becomes president in the future, it will be a later/older version of Gore, facing different circumstances)

There is no question in most peoples' minds that Al Gore would have been a disaster as President that the country could never afford.
