It's all a matter of priorities.

IMO we need a US President with a vision, some charisma, and the will to pull it off.

We sent a group to the moon and back, at the time unimaginable, once it was a priority.

Of course, the world's biggest and most powerful corporations weren't threatened by that particular endeavor.
