McCain has really stepped in it now. He should have stood by the NC republicans and instead like an idiot made a big deal, insulting the republicans, calling for the leadership of the NC party be replaced, and now the democrats are having a field day (eg.http://blog.radioleft.com/blog/_archives/2008/4/25/3659599.html).

I said McCain is campaigning in a straight jacket and using his legs to kick his friends.

I don't think it does any harm. It gives folks the impression McCain is taking the high road and simultaneously brings more attention to the ad.
