We have bombed the hell out of iraq and afganistan. When you are at war you bomb the hell out of your opponent. All three wars need rethinking, i think, in how to fight them and the level of violence. But nothing done in lebanon varies much from the norms of war. And the US supported israeli objectives, contrary to what you implied. Of course the israelis have as much problems with hizbo as the US has with the mahdi army so clear cut victories are impossible to attain.

Excuse me.....Israel wanted to bomb the hell out of Lebanon. Any rational person knew that was crazy. A supposed 'peace loving' nation like the US should have objected......instead we enabled their attack. Why? Because Israel thought it was a good idea. This is stupid. Israel was ATTACKED and its soldiers were killed. Were they supposed to just SIT THERE AND TAKE IT? I am always amazed at how much you have to work overtime to reach some of the lunatic views you have. If the rest of the Left is no more informed than you are, I can see why the entire party has its head up its own ass.
