Since I'm able to watch basketball and google concurrently, I've been reading a bit about tithing. I found it interesting that the pieces I found so far were in the context of prosperity theology or support of the church. Haven't run across one that talked about using the money for charity. Found some info that reminded me of the recent socialism/fascism discussion. Finland actually collects a tax on behalf of the churches from all members. How "efficient" is that? Not ten percent though.
