Look, my father is a jeweler. I have gotten to know many people with numbers tattooed on their arms. And not even all of them, who have the strongest motivation, support the position of modern Israel. 40 years ago, they all supported Israel. Now, not so much. Ok, most of them were younger when they were in the camps. So they may not feel the same. But, they do remember the boots kicking in the door...


What has been surprising to me is the number of expatriate Israelis who are still Israeli citizens but who are anti Israel. Obviously, they left Israel for a reason........I would have thought mostly because of the violence.....but I will still expect them to feel some loyalty. They do not and are often more critical of Israel than Americans.

Maybe the former prisoners see that today, the "boots kicking in the doors" are Israeli boots kicking in Pal doors?
