While I applaud the intention of what you would like to see Rev. Wright do, I think that applying you analytical background to the problem has led you down a garden path.

Long held resentments between groups of people aren't amenable to rational arguments. You aren't going to be able to prove to people that what they feel is wrong.

Correlation is easy. Causation is more difficult. We are not laboratory rats. You can't do double blind studies to get the kind of proof that you would be happy with. But, I think there are mathematics (especially in the case of death row inmates) that given sufficient data and DNA evidence can correlate with causation.
