Hillary has gained in strength recently as she started playing hardball Democrat politics. Whereas, in the early part of the campaign she appeared reticient to attack Obama-----handling him with kid gloves.

She tried hitting him hard back in January. But it all boomeranged back on her for being too 'negative' because the press was covering Obama like a messiah.

Obama made a strategic error in the early part of his campaign----that was to identify with the black Kenyan half of him rather than the Kansas white half.

As I see it, Obama's mistake was in not running as an American with no reference to color and race.

Obama began seeking 'authentic blackness' when he was in high school. That's what Dreams from My Father is all about. That's how he wound up at Trinity United. Obama's problem is that his campaign is seriously at odds with the story of his life.

It's true for Hillary as working class mama too, but everybody knows she's a cynical pol. Obama was claiming to be something else, something more.

Republicans have historically embraced people (Americans) of all racial and national backgrounds with the main credential being qualified and American. One need look no further than the appointments that current President Bush has made in the government.

I just thought that needed to be repeated.

Welcome back, MJ! Nice Post....and many of us said this in the beginning....

... Obama's mistake was in not running as an American with no reference to color and race

Eventually the pols will come to understand they can't fool all the people all the time. Hopefully, they learn it soon, not later.
