But, through their own decisions, Israel was destroyed many years ago. There were plenty who chose not to buck the Romans at their height and have their homelands to this day. And, let's be honest here. If the Jews had kept their homeland, they would have never gotten to the point to where they are now. They went through a Darwinnowing which improved them as a people. However, as any such event does, it came at a terrible price. There is no way to make them into the sheepherders they might have been. Ok, let's take my particular situation. On my mother's side I have significant Cherokee blood. The Cherokees were one of the Seven Civilized Tribes of the Iroquois Nation. They had a legal system, a written language, and a fairly intricate government. The Cherokee, in fact, are an outcast with most Native Americans because they struck deals with the US government and stuck to their side of it, despite being betrayed. Because the rule of law was more important than temporary gain. They had to walk The Trail Of Tears to Oklahoma, well, those that didn't vanish into the hills of Appalachia and became the Renegade Cherokee. If my ancestors had stayed in their homeland, they would have done a lot more than the Israelites would have done with their homeland. They were much further along a Western-style development curve, albeit a bit naive. How far would they have gotten? Hard to say. The Cherokee were very adaptable to White ways. They were willing to to try to strike a balance. What did it buy them other than the scorn of their peers? Nothing. Except for the scorn of their peers. If the Israelis have a claim to part of the ME, what about my ancestors and the majority of Georgia and Virginia? Given the brilliance of Sequoia and his ilk, the US would have been far better off if they hadn't of upset the status quo. The Native Americans, especially those of the Iroquois Nation, were extremely different from Western Europe. They were fairly close technologically when you consider the social aspects. They chose a different path, much to their eventual demise. And they lost. Like the Israelites. Whether it was right or wrong isn't the question. The fact of the matter is that they lost. At some point, you have to accept reality and move on. Me, I don't look forward to moving back to the homeland. I don't insist on reparations because my ancestors were wronged. And they were. My people, on both my father's and my mother's side have always moved on. Moving on is the key. I am sorry that the Jews got screwed. Sadly, that happens. Both the Cherokees and the Vlalecks of my ancestry got screwed. Such is life. The Jews are far from the on;ly race this has happened to. Bottom line, they don't deserve a particular patch of land. Yeah, there are emotional reasons why they may feel that way. But, such is life.
