Massive deficits, Botched Wars and Katrina could be considered "proof".

The deficits are not massive as a portion of the economy, compared to many other countries, or compared to the last several decades in the US.

The war hasn't been botched. Bush, and his generals, have made mistakes, but much smaller ones than a number of other presidents have made.

Katrina was a storm not a presidential policy.
