Cancellation of construction of power plants today will show up in about (my guess) six years. You may be right, time will tell. But a lot can happen technology-wise in six years. Natural gas plants can replace the nixed coal plants, new homes can be built (and older homes retrofitted) to generate enough power from wind and solar to be self-sufficient, and improved wind & solar farm technologies can result in dramatically improved performance. The fact that Warren Buffet and Boone Pickens have shifted their investment focus to alternative power tells me that the paradigm has changed. I am glad to see us embrace the challenge on a national level with our famous Yankee ingenuity.
