I don't know how you were raised, but it was the reverse for me.


It doesn't matter how you were raised.......the dominant theme in the US for most of the past 25-30 years has been conservative. When I was in my early 20s, had I thought about it I probably would have considered myself a conservative. However, what you see written in books about conservatism and they way its practiced in this country are two very different things. And so, over the years, I have seen how liberalism tends to be a more positive influence.
