Thanks Elroy - I would agree that nuclear is not the only solution there is geothermal, wind, solar and sea wave energy. Thermo Solar with Stirling engines seems promising and wind has proven itself. Sea wave is still on the drawing board and geothermal even if proven has not to many fans.

The position I take is that a modern country can emulate the nuclear experience in France and give same priority to supplying electricity needs as it give to military and other security expenses and allocate the requested / needed funds and human resources.

After all a strong economy results in higher standard of living an desire of all people.

As to coal fired plants the danger is obvious and not only from mercury - usatoday.com
