You left out the most important question, define "they". As an American, you should be very much aware that there is a difference between what the government wants and what the bulk of the people want. I only phrase this in this way because I know you can identify with it. I tell you three time thats this is very common in many countries, if not all. Politicians tend to find their own muses....
