Oil had more to lose than the Big 3. Still, seems like there was interest and it wouldn't have cost much to keep it alive had the leadership (at GM) been there to keep it going.

'6 months into the project it was killed by Ford upper management because gas is cheap, it will always be cheap, and Americans don't care about mileage. They want big.'

Amazing how things change in only a few short years. Rap music, home prices only going up, large SUV's easy credit, cheap food and cheap oil are being replaced by Hanna Montana, home prices only going down, hybrids, tight credit, expensive food and expensive oil. Only low interest rates remain... the final domino to fall?
