Perhaps at the margin for a few, but home prices do not drop $200,000 because of rising food an energy costs. Home prices rose because of a speculative bubble in credit and creative financing (ie inflation), and now we are seeing that credit destroyed at an amazing rate (deflation).

I believe that is the proper way to look at things.
