Despite the banks and investment houses precarious derivatives and cdo, cmo exposures, the S&P flirted with 1400 today . They say the stock market tends to look ahead 6/9 months, so, apparently, its outlook is more sanguine than what has been outlined here.

Well, re JPMorgan's, um, ah, "conquest" of Bear Stearns, here's the latest conspiracy theory. Exceeds my depth of knowledge to determine whether or not it smacks of truth (I don't do shorts/options), so I'm just giving the pot another stir.
