>>But today, Rev. Wright attacked him directly when he said he would [go] after him if he got elected President.<<

I heard it differently.

Guessing you meant "go after him", Obama can take that like he does or will do a lobbyist. Listen and then do what he thinks is right. It's not like they are a tag team.

There will be many who want his ear after he is elected.

I watched the whole Washington National Press Club speech and the Q&A. Wright is a pastor who presses buttons. His pressure on the "apology" has no place in a Presidential primary or the General Election. The perennial strategy is to move to the center and not to lose votes.

Obama can can handle Wright IMO just as he can meet with the "5 enemies" from that YouTube question.

Throwing Wright "under the bus" makes no more sense than meeting with an enemy and saying my way or the highway. Sometimes it takes more than 1 or 2 meetings. Look at how many times Kennedy met with Khrushchev.

I believe this might help the "Wright Situation" a bit. I think it will be obvious to the general public that Wright is not speaking for Obama, and that it will be easier for Obama to put distance between himself and his former pastor without looking like a politician who caves to political pressure.

On a personal note, after watching the Bill Moyers interview, I found Wright's underlying points to be valid and worthy of discussion in his church, and in the public discourse in general ....hey, sometimes the truth hurts, and as your Run-O'-the-Mill caucasion, I am not offended or appalled at his points, and am open to listen to his point of view. I may not agree with everything he says, but I do believe he is intelligent, and basically on point with much of what I've heard to date.

I certainly do not project anything he says to Barack Obama; I hope enough people have the common sense to keep Obama/Wright in their own arenas.
