"Greatest number of experts claim", isn't much of an argument for me. I don't put much stock in arguments from authority.

I might look to experts for claims of specific known fact, but this isn't an issue of specific known fact.

As for the "what do we have to lose", well on a lot of structural changes, we may indeed have something to lose, but this one perhaps not so much. At worst I don't think it will be a major problem, so I wouldn't oppose the idea. But to actually support, rather than just not oppose, a constitutional amendment, I need more than "well it probably won't hurt".
