JFK being elected at his young age was a fluke. Ted Kennedy and other big shot democrats endorsing a rookie black senator was nothing less than stupid.

This whole thing really puts the Democrats in an awful tough position. Were I a party elder I would not be happy with the MSM who anointed him early and never bothered to be a journalist when it came to this guy. This stuff should have all come out early and sunk him early. Now they have a mess on their hands and it's not going to get cleaner.

When you yearn so badly for a "glamour" candidate and an "identity" candidate, you are very vulnerable when a brilliant two-for-one candidate like Obama shows up.

You get a candidate who is too good to check. Though in retrospect, it's not as if Wright were some hidden scandal, since he's a very well known preacher and has been preaching this crap for many years. Hillary's people were trying to alert the press since last year but they just weren't interested until talk radio (I think it was talk radio) pushed Wright into national attention in March. Obama got past that with the Great Race Speech but Wright would not shut up.

The MSM is attempting to cover for Rice (just see how the NYT covered it.) Larry Elder and Hugh Hewitt both think Obama will still be the nominee; that the Dems won't dare do otherwise. They may be right but I think only if Obama soldiers on and shows some of the iron will that Hillary has.
