Just a guess but I think the Dems will do better with their leads in party identification winning new seats in Congress. The flood of Republican retirements and Senate seats up this time puts the Reps in a deep hole, even in a good year.

It's entirely possible the Dems could pick up 3-5 Senate seats and not regain the White House.

Which will make this morning's press conference of Bush slamming Congress look like a Sunday picnic, compared to the train wreck that could ensue in 2009. Even Hillary would likely be stymied by Republican filibusters on major reforms.
