Lets not talk about the tens or hundreds of thousands who died in the crossing or the ordeal of slavery, being 3/5th of a human, jim crowe etc. And lets only talk about the last 30 years. This may not be racism but its stupidity of the highest order and one you share in big time Dave.

It is, in fact, highly rational thought without the emotional bias that results from an undue emphasis on the wrongs that were committed 150 years ago or more.

The simple truth is that for the 40M blacks in this nation today, they have had great opportunities they wouldn't have gotten elsewhere. The 600,000 slaves? It is sad. But so are the thousands and thousands of war dead -- black and white -- who gave their lives so that we (all of us) could be free. Who are you going to blame for THAT?

Slavery was wrong, everyone agrees. But you cannot just keep it up forever. At some point, you say, "Hey, enough is enough."

The simple, indisputable truth is there is not one black person alive today who was a slave, and most who are alive today have had many benefits that whites of the same age have not had.

Get over it, man. Nobody is discriminating against blacks anymore.

Michael, I'm still waiting for "reparations" from Japan for enslaving my grandparents between 1910-1945.

I blame my ancestors' captors for the reason why I'm not as successful as I could have been.

Of course, I'm not vindictive, so I don't ask for much. Just a free Toyota Prius. ;-)
