OK, it's over, let's move on....

In strongest terms to date, Obama angrily rejects his former pastor, saying he “caricatured himself” on Monday and acknowledges he didn’t know Rev. Wright as well as he thought.

Says Wright’s “rants” before the National Press Club angered him and his wife, and “directly contradicts everything I’ve done in my life.”

“They offend me. They rightly offend all Americans and they should be denounced. And that’s what I’m doing very clearly and unequivocally today.”

Adds: “I don’t think he showed much concern for me. I don’t think, more importantly, he showed much concern for what we’re trying to do in this campaign.”

Says he earlier gave Wright the “benefit of the doubt,” but “the person that I saw yesterday was not the person that I had come to know over 20 years.”

>> Obama takes on wright

He made a good statement and really tried to distance himself -- I think, doing a fairly good job.

The problem, of course, is that he didn't explain the ONE big thing -- why would he continue to be a member of this congregation, allowing his children to be indoctrinated into this hate speech and racism, if he felt as he now claims he does -- that Wright's views were not the same as his own.

Until he explains this I just don't see how this goes away.
