I don't agree with the man. But I understand where he is, and where he has come from, and the tradition of the black churches.

I have NO idea whether that means I'm an apologist. I also just don't see him as that outrageous, given what other speakers in the black community have said and are saying. Wright seems pretty tame to me- compared to Sharpton, for example. And as you remember, we both considered voting for him :-)

This happens within discussions about Saddam, or about terrorists, also. Any attempt at saying he is this way, or they are that way because-- immediately draws wrath and accusations of being somehow a sympathizer. Is seen as somehow approving the behavior.<<
