Of course, "good old boys" can never do wrong, can they? Americans do tend to have a great deal of moral relativism when it comes to what our military does. The "do no wrong" mentality. Actions that any right-minded person would think cruel and horrific in civil society are not even questioned by Americans when considering military actions overseas done in our name, as long as they are done by men and women in uniform in a war zone. Yet, if the same actions were carried out on the streets of America, it would be called murder or a deadly rampage, a massacre. That's one of the reasons I'm not at all comfortable with usurping the U.S. constitution and suspending all American's consitutional rights to due process to fight "terrorism". We've got 10,000s of "enemy combatants" in America that mean to do ordinary Americans harm, they are called street thugs, criminals, gang members, etc., and they are mainly Americans (some illegals from other countries like Nigeria or Mexico) not muslims. This uber focus on very rare violence from foreign muslims, to the point where due process is suspended, seems terribly misguided when there are plenty of violent Americans and illegals who are out to do harm to Americans for various reasons that have nothing to do with organized terrorism. Amazing that people accept the #@$! being shovled down their throats by GW Bush and company. Want to be safe in life? We need to round up the criminals and illegals. The terrorists are barely a threat to our existence compared to the regular criminal violence in our streets.
