What you have to appreciate about Obama is his fortitude and desire to run a clean and honest campaign. He needs to remind voters why we need to focus on less oil dependency. Foregoing gas taxes means cutting back on already constrained budgets elsewhere. Obama needs to deliver some simple facts and show the impracticality of short term relief. He must demonstrate his true desire to fix things; the imperativeness of delivering the needed medicine versus putting things off for another day and only worsening the problems. If put in an easily understood context, he can regain his momentum by showing the foolishness and the old school pandering of his opponents.
