To: Ilaine who wrote (34168 ) 4/30/2008 9:56:53 AM From: Riskmgmt Respond to of 220296 Good morning llaine, I see I made you laugh again.<<ROFLMAO again.>> This is good for laughter is therapeutic, especially for those who take themselves too seriously. They aren't "competing" with male soldiers or male cops, they just do their jobs to the best of their ability, and twice as good as you could ever do. Thats a pretty illogical statement llaine, are you sure you don't want to amend it? Maybe you wrote it when you were tired so I'll give you time to rethink it before I address it. FYI. I have had 2 close female friends that were cops. One moved away and I have lost touch with, the other I talk to often. The former was 5' 2" about 110 lbs. She did compete with the men and cried every night after swat training. She tried to tackle a drugged up suspect once and would have been beaten to death if not for 2 male officers arriving just in time. The other lady taller and slightly heavier made it to police captain without ever firing her gun in the line of duty. IMO, as I stated earlier but you chose to ignore, the problem is with this idea woman are equal i.e. the same. They aren't, but it doesn't mean they are inferior, in some jobs and circumstances they are superior. If we acknowledge the difference we can logically say that for the majority of swat work a female, especially one 5' 2" 110 lbs is not suitable. But for negotiation, interaction with the public and other police work a woman would be more suitable perhaps than a high testosterone 6" 4" hunk. Also, you have made assumptions about me that are way off base. So,FYI., my doctor is female, and Asian. I have had both female and male Dr's and although it depends on the person, not the sex, I tend to prefer females as doctors (and nurses) as I think they have a softer demeanor and care giving is more natural for them. They also tend to be more empathetic and gentle. My dentist is a woman also. My last flight had a woman at the controls. Never used a female architect or engineer or attorney but don't see any reason not to. You are attacking me on the mistaken assumption that I am anti-woman. i am not. I love women. I think that they deserve to be recognized as the unique, special fairer sex that they are. When we, as a society, recognize and acknowledge this, we can do away with all this nonsense of being politically correct and having to treat females the same because they are equal to a man. Imagine the potential that could unleash for this country!
